Uppsala University is organized into three scientific fields with nine faculties and around fifty departments. The operations are led by the University Board (Consistory), and the Vice-Chancellor is the head of the authority. In addition, there is a University Administration led by the University Director.

The Internal Audit Unit at Uppsala University is an organizationally independent department that reports directly to the University Board. The department consists of three internal auditors and one Head of Internal Audit. The Internal Audit Unit's mission is to independently review whether management's internal control and governance are designed so that the university achieves its goals and meets the requirements of the Authority Ordinance regarding efficiency, compliance, and sound financial management of state funds. The work is carried out in accordance with the Internal Audit Ordinance and international professional standards.

Responsibilities

As an Internal Auditor, you will review the university's internal control and governance in various areas. You plan, conduct, and report on your audits independently or in collaboration with your colleagues. The work includes actively participating in the Internal Audit Unit's environmental scanning, risk analysis, and contributing to the department's development. You report to the Head of Internal Audit and present your audits, both in writing and orally, to the Audit Committee.

The work within the Internal Audit Unit takes place in close collaboration and dialogue. You have contacts with different parts and levels within the university, which requires you to establish good cooperation with the parts of the operations being audited, while maintaining independence and integrity.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• An academic degree in economics, social sciences, law, or equivalent education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Several years of experience in internal and/or external audit, or alternative professional experience assessed as equivalent.
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good ability to comprehend complex information in English.

Desirable additional qualifications

• Experience of internal audit within the public sector.
• CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or other certification in the field.

About the position: The position is permanent, with a probationary period possibly applied. The position is full-time, with start date according to agreement. Location: Uppsala.
